Intro

TextureCraft is an open-source 3D texture-painting app from the ArtCraft suite, rewritten in pure Rust. Its product page appeared among newly discovered sitemap URLs in this scan window. Artists paint PBR materials in layers with masks directly on the mesh (strokes cross UV seams), bake ambient occlusion/curvature/thickness on the GPU (~12× faster than CPU in their claim), and keep 8K sets responsive via a tiled copy-on-write texel engine on Metal, Vulkan, DirectX 12 and WebGPU.

Every menu action is a command, so a CLI, JSON control channel and MCP server can drive paint/bake/export for agents. Downloads ship through the ArtCraft Launcher or standalone builds for macOS, Windows, Linux and Web.

Explain

Highlights

  • Familiar Substance-like workspace: texture sets, layer stack, smart materials, 3D/2D views.
  • Open formats in (glTF, FBX, COLLADA, USD, Alembic, OBJ…) and high-bit PNG/EXR/UDIM out.
  • Agent-ready surface for automation pipelines.

Status

Marketed as free/open source; page also notes "in development" — verify release maturity before production use.
