Intro

StackRails is an enterprise context and governance layer for AI coding agents. It builds a live Architecture Graph from code, cloud, IaC, CMDB, ADRs, APIs and event topology, then serves relevant slices through a vendor-neutral read-only MCP into Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor and Codex—so agents see architecture/policy before generating code, with checks at commit/push and pull request (optionally blocking merges).

This scan surfaced the name via a new runtimewire sitemap URL and corroborated it on stackrails.ai plus press wires. It is context/governance for agents, not another coding model.

Explain

Shape

  • Before generation: inject architecture graph + policy context.
  • Before merge: policy/compliance checks.
  • Integrations: MCP/plugin paths into major AI coding tools.

Caveats

Primarily a commercial platform; openness and pricing follow the vendor site. The radar keeps the proper product name—not the generic “context layer” phrase.

Usage

Who it is for

  • Eng leaders rolling out Copilot/Cursor/Claude Code who need agents to respect internal architecture and policy.
  • Platform/DevEx teams that want one context plane for coding agents.

Getting started

  1. Review stackrails.ai/platform and integrations.
  2. Pilot Architecture Graph + MCP on one repo.
  3. Observe prompt context first, then enable PR-blocking policies.
