Unlike one-off prompts, a Teammate owns an ongoing responsibility — running a growth campaign, triaging bug reports, tracking metrics, researching a market — plans the tasks, brings in more agents as work grows, and follows through until results are ready for review.

Positioning

Teammates move Perplexity from "answer engine" → "Computer (agent that operates a computer)" → an AI coworker that owns work over time. The difference is persistence and proactivity: it remembers prior work, applies feedback and acts on triggers.

Versus peers

Kimi Hosted Agents, Notion's shared agent brain and Mistral Studio hosted agents all chase persistent/hosted agents. Perplexity's angle is tight coupling with its search + Computer desktop/browser control and native Slack collaboration.

Limits
