Intro

Glasshand, from Trevor Keith's team (Solid; MIT / Berkeley / Waterloo backgrounds), launched on Product Hunt on 2026-11-05 and took #1 Product of the Day. It lets AI agents rent real physical iPhones and Macs in a data center — not emulators or VMs. Site: https://glasshand.com ; Product Hunt: https://www.producthunt.com/products/glasshand .

How it works: connect Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or any agent to the Glasshand API; the agent then drives an exclusive device — iMessage, App Store installs, TikTok posts, Uber bookings, or build-on-Mac / test-on-iPhone workflows. Primary SKU today is iPhone SE 3rd gen; eSIM can give the agent its own number for SMS codes.

Highlights:

  • Real hardware, keeping Apple ecosystem behavior;
  • Exclusive for the rental; users can set their own PIN / disk password;
  • After rental: wipe + factory reset (including Secure Enclave / eSIM);
  • Reported pricing from ~$60/mo iPhone, $90/mo Mac;
  • Contrasts with already-tracked Poki (local MCP on your own phone): Glasshand is remote rental.

Explain

Problem

Agents are smart enough for many tasks, but native phone apps, SMS verification and Apple-only services still stall them waiting for a human tap. Glasshand rents the "hands": the same human UI, real hardware, cellular and iCloud.

Safety trade-offs

The team emphasizes wipe SOPs and verification; users can set their own passwords so the platform never sees them. Still new infra — audit and compliance are on you.

Limits

  • Limited device SKUs for now; camera-facing content for the rack is still in development;
  • Remote real devices raise privacy/abuse surface — better for sandboxed automation than dumping your primary accounts;
  • Strong PH launch; long-term retention and SLA TBD.

Usage

Who it's for

  • Teams whose agents must drive real iOS/macOS apps, run regression tests or automate social;
  • Developers evaluating computer-use / phone-use product shapes;
  • Anyone comparing against local control tools like Poki.

Getting started

  1. Sign up at https://glasshand.com or via the Product Hunt page;
  2. Paste the connect prompt into Claude Code / Codex / Cursor and rent an iPhone or Mac;
  3. Set your own device password and optional eSIM;
  4. After rental, confirm wipe + factory reset completed.
